Il Tempo Gelato, a Taste of Italy in Yogyakarta

Whenever I’m in Yogyakarta and in need of a good gelato, I know just where to go. Lately there’s been an obsession of gelato in my town, which is a good thing for a gelato fan like me, and so there are many gelato cafes popping up.

However, Il Tempo Gelato is my absolute favourite. They claim to use only natural flavours and I am absolutely in love with their flavours. My favourites are praline, coffee, strawberry and chocolate – because I am an absolute boring person haha. I am still waiting till the day they make salted caramel, perhaps I’ll request for it.

If you’re more adventurous though, there are other flavours too like kemangi (Indonesian basil), chilli chocolate and many more.

The place itself is quite nice but gets super crowded (mostly with teenagers) in the afternoon. So come early! The price is not so expensive, my usual is the small cup that fits 2 flavours for 20.000IDR. I think it’s not so expensive since the the cup fits a lot, but they also have bigger cups and also a cone option.

This month they are opening a new branch! I guess it’s because they’re so popular. Do give this place a try!

Epic Coffee & Epilog Furniture

Yogyakarta is now brimming with coffee shops, most boast of its “Instagramableness” but what’s the point of having a cute place without the balance of a decent cup of coffee right?

I have been eyeing on Epic Coffee for a while and have passed the place several times and was completely intrigued. They don’t just sell coffee but also furniture, a weird and uncommon combination which means something I really need to check out. (more…)

Food Markets Around the World

One of the joys of a foodie is when they stumble upon a food market during their travels. I am a huge fan of food markets as they are also a showcase for local food.

There are many food markets around the world, most are easy to find and accessible by local transport. Often the prices at a food market are not as expensive as restaurants so it is a great place to try new things.

Here are some of my favourite food markets. (more…)

3 Must Visit Restaurants in Melaka

Melaka in Malaysia is best known for its iconic pink church, Christ Church. However, it is also best known for its awesome food. You will see a lot of local Malaysians and people from neighbouring country Singapore who would come to Melaka just to eat. I really don’t blame them.

When you find your way to this foodie heaven, don’t forget to pay a visit to these restaurants to have the best of Melaka’s food. (more…)
